Bottle. Pours amber with a foamy off white head, good retention. Aroma of grassy hops, pine orange, slightly dusty. Taste is malty, caramel, hint of roasted, spiciness and some grassy, earthy hops. Mild bitterness, light sweetness, medium body, light carbonation.

A good beer that is full of flavour yet thin on taste/strength. Makes it a viable choice at least half the time!?!

500ml bottle present. Reddish brown, reasonable head. Dry vanilla malt aroma. Metallic caramel malt flavour. Bitter aftertaste. Bog standard supermarket bitter.

500ml can, erm all I can say is that there is no longer a Courage and hence no company directors to drink this which is just as well because they would be annoyed with it... Looks good, has a nice mouth feel (suspiciously nice...) smooth palate but apart from. Pleasant (yet thin) maltiness, there really is nothing to this beer... Come on Wells & Young you have the recipes, the skills and the heritage PLEASE brew this the way it should be brewed.... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nose is malty with a touch of caramel and a faint metallic note, decent body, earthy hops, a little toffee, and chocolate, slightly drying bitterness, a bit too gassy though.

Dark brown colour. A standard boring brown bitter to be honest. It's nice enough, but nowt exciting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured a clear bronze colour with a one-finger off white foamy head that retained poorly, diminishing to a thin line of bubbles around the edge. Laced poorly with a few spots. Carbonation low to moderate with small to medium sized bubbles. Aroma of sweet fruit malt and treacle - pleasant and not over powering. Taste initially of sweet malt that holds for quite a while then fades away to a bitter-sweet after taste. Medium body. Long slightly unusual acidic bitter finish.

Pours dark red. Big caramel malts, Smoky earthy and nuts on Nose. Some hops in there. Flavours are dark fruits, coffee, toffee and burnt grain. Medium body. Nice bitterness on finish. Flavour stays in the sip till last. This isn’t bad at all.
