Looks good. Not much aroma, some caramel maybe. Deep angular bitter taste. Fine without being exciting in any way. Insert sarky remark about executives and their ability to detect quality.

500ml bottle from Asda. Pours clear amber with a short-lived white head. Aromas of butterscotch and caramel. Taste is sweet, faint hint of orange cordial. Clean finish. So clean I forgot I was drinking it.

500 ml bottle with a BB date stamp of 14 Dec. 2015. Poured deep red-amber with a decent sized head that displayed poor retention and only left a few spots of lacing. Feel: near full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavor: lightly hops such that the hops are obvious but the ale is just mildly bitter and about equally malty and hoppy. O: amber ale meets ESB

Quite easy to drink. Not much else to say about this one. You can taste the malt, erm.. No head, nothing to make you buy it again.

Not very good, I liked the bottle so bought it at Morrisonís 2014. a Mild, fainít carbonated . Pourís a standard dark Brown colour, clear with a small temporary head. Nothing for the mouthfeel, just watery, and stale, lots of carbonation. Taste is very minor, Earthy, and bitter with some mild spice. Clean dry finish, decently crisp, but uninspiring.

Really enjoyed this bottle pours like a proper English pint tastes milk chocolate with a hint of bitter finish very nice if lacking a bit of complexity. Very east drinking bottle. .

Bottle. Walnut brown with amber-orange hues; Cereal malt aromas with some spiced, dried fruit; Medium bodied with a full carbonated mouthfeel; Dark fruit and black pepper dominate palate with bittering hoppiness - blood orange and grapefruit; Malty sweetness on finish. A decent Pale Ale with a bit of flavour if not overtly expressive, but the carbonated mouthfeel is distracting!

Bottle at the Bedford Arms, Bedford. Insipid amber, very flat for a bottle with hardly any head. Caramel, firewood and Turkush delight are represented in the interesting but ultimately unengaging scent. The taste is decent, with a respectable malt hit. Unfortunately it dissipates fairly quickly, leaving nothing for the finish. Itís not great.

*Old rating from 2010. Nice smooth malty beginning. Hints of caramel and chocolate there, smooth and Ale typical bitter finish with dark malty aroma. Nice.
