Bottle from Asda. Deep amber with no head and slight carbonation. Bready malts, a hint of fruit and lightly bitter finish. Nothing to praise, nothing to criticise either, a totally neutral beer.

500 ml bottle. Clear, dark amber colour, short-life small sized off-white porous head, slight toffee aroma, light body, soft carbonation, moderate nutty and caramel sweet taste, sour malty palate with simply earthy hoppy notes. Smooth, but nothing special.

Pours a clear amber color, topped with a nice off-white head that stays around. A pleasant malty aroma, and quite noticeable caramel. The taste is creamy and bittery, some caramel also present. Very nice.

Bottle shared with McTapps. I always thought I had drunken this one already but surprise - I did not. - second surprise: fine one. Aromas of raisins, bit chocolate, some malt and bit of hops. Very easy to drink with a light warming touch and slightly sweetish. Fine, well brewed piwo with some class in it. Not rocket science but something you could drink every time you visit the UK. Thumbs up.

This used to be my regular Sunday night drink in the Rainbow in Coventry - great pub, good beer. This bottled version is a blander version; drinkable, but not very interesting. Looks OK, medium brown with a small white head and some lacing. Aroma and taste is mostly malt with little coming from the hops. I’ve tried some supermarket beers this evening for old time’s sake - will be back to the bottle shop next time for something a bit more inspiring.

Bottle courtesy of Kate P. Deep amber with a cream head. A fruity malty brew with notes of caramel and a hint of spice. Distinctly average.

500ml bottle. It is a very average red ale. It hasn’t big fault and big hits also. Average red colour, foam, medium body, malty-yeastly taste for a huge price.

First pour from the can brings a burst of hop which is impressive but probably provided by a hop oil addition. Nice malty flavour and bitterness to the back of the throat. Reminds me of the cask ales I drank years ago but the carbonation is far too high from the can. Provided by Stuart on his visit.
