Originally only brewed for the Courage directors, the spare beer was sold locally as Alton IPA, but soon became known as Director’s.

Full bodied with a clean, bitter taste, balanced with a sweet burnt, malty and fruity notes with a distinctive dry-hop aroma and flavour.

Clear light tawny red body with poor head. Not really interesting in the taste, a little nutty, dry and some really old dried sultanas.

Little aroma. Slight hop grassiness, biscuity malt, a little sweet. Pleasant lingering aftertaste. Well-balanced but a little unexciting. Bombardier is the better product from this brewery.

Bottle. Head is short lived and leaves minimal lacing. Poured deep red-amber . Nose is malt, chocolate and plastic. Taste is surprisingly light. Light carbonation on the tongue leads to a balanced malt and dry finish

Smell: caramel - hops, fruits, a little something of malt. Taste: hop bitterness (very subtle and pleasing to the palate); in the distance caramel notes. Delicate roasted notes. The finish is bitters. Color of tea

Bottle in England. Aroma is malty, caramel, toffee, some dried fruity notes. Flavour is moderate sweet with a little bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. Malty dullness, okay at best.

Kolor: ciemny bursztyn, klarowny. Piana koloru ecru, niezbyt wysoka, ?rednio trwa?a. Aromat: na pierwszym planie s? ?liwki i karmel a w tle delikatna dro?d?owo??. Piwo jest lekko wodniste, podobnie jak wy?ej wiod?ce s? karmel i ?liwki. Goryczka zawsze na finiszu, kawowa. Wysycenie wysokie.

Aragh (188) - POLAND - JAN 20, 2016
Kolor bursztynowy, klarowne, gęsta obwódka piany. Zapach niezbyt mocny, słodkawy, ciastkowo - ziemisty. W smaku wodniste i niezbyt wyraźne, jest niska drożdżowa słodycz, nieznaczne kwaskawe jagody i trawiasta goryczka. Piwo w którym brakuje po trochu wszystkiego.

This was always my go to beer whenever I saw it on tap, sadly these days it is nigh on impossible to find on draught, so this is a bottle review. Bordering very slightly on the edge of sweet this is counteracted by a roasty caramel tinge and if you wait for the ’bottle fizz’ to go away it is very smooth and rests easy on the palate.
