2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 bluevegie (3004) - Perth, - AUG 7, 2008Clear light tawny red body with poor head. Not really interesting in the taste, a little nutty, dry and some really old dried sultanas.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 stevoj (923) - Ramstein-Miesenbach, GERMANY - MAY 14, 2013
Initial nice taste, but hen it falls flat. A bit more head than I’m used to from British ales, so it looks pretty good. But aroma and taste and palate are all very light, flat and almost bland. Next!
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jmgreenuk (1286) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAY 9, 2013
Bottle from some place that sells beer. Poured a clear chesnut brown with a broken white frothy head. The aroma is malty with a little yeast in the background. The flavour is medium bitter, malty, slightly metallic and with a few roasted nuts floating around on the palate. I used to like this. I’ve moved on, the beer hasn’t.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 ThirstyBird (418) - Düsseldorf, GERMANY - MAY 2, 2013
Pours a clear amber color with a nice tan. Smell is caramel and a touch of fruit. Taste is caramel, bread with some fruitiness ending dry and a touch nutty. light in body with some slickness...average carbonation. Not bad though does not stand out either.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Bif (1023) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - APR 17, 2013
Pours a deep amber color with a moderate head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, some caramel with a bit of fruit and spice. Taste is similar with roasted malt, some caramel sweetness bit of fruit and spice in the background. Has mild bitterness with a fairly dry finish with just a bit of lingering bitterness. Medium body and smooth. Decent ESB but rather mundane. A bit sweet for more than one.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Impavidus (62) - Budapest, HUNGARY - MAR 29, 2013
Clear and orange-copper-colored, with a average off-white head.
Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, dry light spiced note.
Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, a finish light bitterness too... But really nothing special... I expected more from him.
Body is medium, carbonation is soft. Quite drinkable.
2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Cantabrian (383) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 23, 2013
Another deceiving and disappointing ESB. The nice malty aroma of caramels prepares you for a sweet experience, but what you get in the taste is bitter (extra special bitter) and not pleasant. Not a pale ale type of bitter. Poor balance. I’d have this one very cold.
