Espresso coffee and roasted nuts aroma. Dark black in colour with a dark yellow head. Extremely rich espresso, nuts and smokey flavour. Full bodied with some bitterness in the finish. Very good.

small frothy light browh head. fair lacing. mostly diminishing. flat thick black body. aroma: heavy toasted malt, dark chocolate, mild coffee, raisin, ruby port, alcohol. if: heavy sweet. ff: moderate sweet light bitter; long duration. palate: medium body, watery/oily texture, lively carbonation, metallic heavy alcoholic finish.

Draft at Uber. Nearly black pour with tan head. Chocolate, roast, salt, raisins, and beef jerky. Well balanced between sweetness and bitterness. Full body, average carbonation, slick smooth texture. Overall: quite nice.

Bottle from Total Wine in Boynton Beach, FL. 2012. Pours a deep black oil in a small snifter at home. Aroma is roasted malts, dark chocolate, slight coffee, oak barrel, and booze. The taste is dark chocolate, dark fruits, oak barrel, booze, and slight anise. Great balance of flavors. Almost room temp it really shined. Medium to full body, boozy finish with deep malts.

Bottle, Tesco, Bidston. I was very surprised and happy to stumble across a box of this waiting to be put out on the shelves at my local Tesco. Poured nigh on black with a medium tan head. Aroma had notes of molasses, roast, dark choc and dark fruit. Full and rich flavour with fairly prominent booze and notes of chocolate, roasted malts coffee and vanilla. Quite a treat and a bargain at £2 a bottle. I went back for more that weekend but alas it was all gone and has never been seen again. Sob.

275mL bottle BB 02/09/26!!! Pitch black body, holds a good sized dense tan head for the duration. Aroma quite different from most (imperial) stouts: dried fig & sultana, burnt toffee, cocoa, vinous red fruits, charred woody notes, almost a hint of Brett-like horsey/cooked pineapple note!? Full rich body, moderate carbonation, nice creamy texture to it. Palate opens out with good measures of charred toast, roast nuts, espresso, burnt sugars & molasses, with dried fruit & smokey, phenolic woody undertones. Moderately bitter finish, dries out with some warmth. Quite a different Imperial Stout, quite savoury. Would be interesting to see how it ages...not sure I would be willing to wait 13 years though!

October 31, 2014 - bottle shared by Jake. Dark brown pour with limited head. Aroma was smoke, roasted malt and coffee. Taste was consistent with aroma, but also had a mild fruity finish.
