Aug 8, 2003 The aroma is very stouty with smoked and roasted notes. The color is black and it has a fine brown head. The flavor is creamy smooth with strong notes of roasted and smoked malt - all in all very sweet. A great flavor and a great beer.

Jul 26, 2004 Updated: Feb 17, 2006Bottled, 1992 vintage. Intransparently black. Sweet and very chocolaty. Salty, rich and thick with loads of licorice in the finish. Mature and intensely flavourful, the rawness of this beer when young is long gone.

Jul 20, 2005 Updated: Jul 23, 2005(Bottle 25 cl) Vintage 1983. Dark brown almost soy-like appearance, no head. Raisiny nose. Lots of dried fruit in the flavours and lots of roasted malt. Complex beyound belief - yummy. This really has aged gracefully. Thanks to Dixen for this unexpected gem. 170705

Sep 9, 2001 Rich, intense, fruity - you’d hardly know it came from such a big brewer. A wonderful aging beer. I just had a bottle from 1983 and it was one of the top 5 bottles of beer I’ve ever had. The rating is for this beer under normal circumstances.
