COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION It was October 17, 1814. Meaux’s Horseshoe Brewery located in St. Giles, England was brewing a delicious porter in a very large vat. The vat was is fact 7600 barrels which equals 235,600 gallons! Suddenly, the vat of porter burst wide open washing away the brewery walls and flooding basements all along Bainbridge Street. Eight people died that day from drowning, injury, poisoning by the porter fumes, and drunkenness. So hurry and drink this porter so we can avoid such an unfortunate tragedy!
