COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION Our heaviest bodied ale, James Polk Porter is based on a beer first brewed in London in 1722. The beer was advertised as being richer and more nourishing than the lighter ales of the day, giving strength to porters and other laborers to accomplish their tasks. The heavy bodied ale is nearly black in color with ruby red highlights. It has a moderate hop rate and is characterized by coffee and chocolate flavors.
