on tap-pours black with a tan head. Aroma is brandy/wood, medium malt. Taste is brandy/wood, medium malt, some medium fruit.

Pours basically black with a very small, tight, well retained, light brown head.

The aroma is lots of dark fruit, raisins & plums. There is some light vanilla and dark roasted coffee, light smoke and a little bit of warm brandy.

The flavor is much of that dark fruit on vanilla thing with plenty of rich brandy, some red apple fruitiness, a good but light roastiness, and an all around sweetness that never really gives way to anything I would call cloying.

Before it went in the barrel this thing reminded me of some sort of Imperial Stout/Baltic Porter hybrid, barreling it didn’t seem to tip it one way or the other but it did make it a little bit more of a odd take on Baltic Porter, odd but very tasty.
