State week month, week 2 Oct 9th - 15th. State: Iowa.

The beer pours a deep golden color with a medium long lasting head that leaves good lacing on the glass.

The aroma is sweet, wet, malt. Rich smelling with some light limestone basment character.

The flavor is very malty with lots of raw grain flavor, the beer is pretty sweet but not really in a breakfast cereal kind of way, more in a malty sweet kind of way. The beer has a good dose of herbal hoppiness that brings some much needed balance. I do reckon that there is a mild citrus character in there as well.
It wasn’t really my thing at first, but it grew on me as the pint progressed.

On tap at brewpub. Pours amber with a thin white head. Fruity aroma. Kind of steep with hops and unbalanced. This does not seem like a lager. It has a midpoint sweetness with an apple cider finish. I think they used mount hood hops. This is a very different and very unique interpretation of a marzen, certainly it is american hopped. The aroma at warming has a doughiness that mixes with the fruit flavor.
