4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Growler thanks to joshmcg000. Pours a crystal clear dark orange to copper with a small, off white head that is sustained by a fairly high effervescence. Aroma is huge on sweet sugary rum, caramel, dark fruit, dates especially, rum, rum, rum, light woody notes and Werthers Original candy. Flavor is more sugary rum, caramel, Werthers Original, sweet bread spice, cereal grain, sweet malt, dark fruit and hot boozy rum. Palate is heavy bodied, slightly syrupy throughout and has a moderate carbonation. Even by my own description this sounds like it would be entirely too sweet and boozy... and it is, but somehow it works freaking great. Love it.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a deep orange color with a nice medium sized but very long lasting head that leaves good lacing on the glass.
The aroma is pretty much like a snifter o’ Appleton Estate rum, which to me is a very good thing, but damn this is rum-y. Some mild caramel, fig, and pear aromas compliment the rum very well, it’s a sweet boozy smelling beer that works... at least for me it works.
The flavor is sweet and spicy, very boozy with lots of rum flavor, again very Jamaican-Rum-Like. Flavors of cherry and vanilla are there as well but this is all about the spiciness and the rum flavor. I’ve never had a beer with this much Rum character, maybe if I had another one I wouldn’t be so taken aback and impressed, but this was damned enjoyable.
