Courthouse Pub Chief Wawatam Steam Lager

On tap at the Courthouse Pub in downtown, Manitowoc, WI. Pours a clear dark golden brew with a fast dissipating off white head. Aroma of caramel malt, a touch of citrus zest and grassy hops. Taste is a little carbonated, some acidic/metallic character on the tongue, medium bodied, and a slight hop bite aftertaste.

Deep golden color with a bubbly white head. Very pale malt aroma which is almost masked by whatever this place uses to clean its glasses. Clean start but astringent finish. I was here a couple years ago and the beers all seemed to have a "unclean" astringent quality. I had hoped that things may have changes. I've had this in a few homebrews before and have not pinned it down. I am assuming either a malt or yeast problem.
