JPDIPSO (4266), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Sep 21, 2007 Light copper color with a smallish cream colored head. Caramel, light toasted malt, grain, grass and mild fruit aroma. Light caramel malt start, but a mild astringency comes in and messes things up. Some light fruit also seems out of place. Dries out in the finish and linger, but come across as unclean for a marzen. Skyview (2901), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Sep 9, 2007 On draught at the brewpub in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Pours a clear dark amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind a ring and some lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, a touch of sweetened apple sauce, citrusy and grassy hops and a touch of honey. Taste is semi-sweet, medium bodied, very lightly carbonated with flavors of sweet caramel malt and a touch of apple. Finish is semi-sweet with a caramel malt aftertaste. THere is a lingering mild hoppiness that lingers around after the finish.
