2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured a straw yellow color with aromas of hay, fake medicinal strawberry and some malt. Flavors were stale strawberries, hay and some light grain. Just average and nothing special.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: JUL 3, 2014 Pours a very cloudy pale golden color with fine bits of vegetable matter floating throughout. A white fizzy head fades as quickly as as it forms. Strawberry jam wafts from the glass. Lively mouthfeel. A dark roasted syrup or powdered malt byproduct home-brew flavor is prominent underneath the fruitiness. I wish I had bought Abita’s strawberry ale.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pale and slightly hazy in the glass. The nose is fresh strawberries. The beer starts smooth, mild, slightly yeasty. In the mainpart there is a subtle strawberry-flavour, that gets more intense till the end, and that is natural and not too sweet. Very smooth. The aftertaste is a bit short, but nice smooth, creamy (like the cream-ale) and with nice natural strawberry aroma.
A very nice, smooth and easy-to-drink fruit beer. --> 12/13/12/12

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
FROM NOTES: June 27, ’12
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass.
Aroma: Strong over-powering strawberry nose with little else. Appearance: Pours a cloudy, very pale yellow with a medium-sized, quickly dissipating white head.
Taste: As advertised, strawberry dominated, but lacking depth.
Palate: Light bodied with a soft, almost creamy texture to it and soft fizzy carbonation.
Overall: Fruit beers are not my thing, so a little difficult to rate overall, but I would say that it’s not exceptional in any area.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Very light, non-existent head. The aroma is one that is more sour than the fruit smell of strawberry. The tastes follows suit with a sour taste, more so than strawberry. Is there such thing as a strawberry Budweiser?

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle. (Marcello’s Wine Market) Lafayette, LA.
Cloudy yellow golden colour with a tiny white head.
Strawberry pie in the aroma. Nothing else really. The flavour sweet caramel and maybe a hint of strawberry. The aroma changes a bit with the sediment added... it’s a bit more tart. Quite bad brew. Watery.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
The cap easily came off, almost like it wasn’t sealed. Light yellow pour with a white head. The aroma has some strawberry and grain notes. The flavor is pretty bad with some rotten strawberry notes as well as some grain. Medium mouthfeel and no carbonation - the beer was completely flat.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Covington Brewhouse Strawberry Ale has a thin, fizzy white head and a hazy, yellow-golden appearance, with juice pulp present throughout. Lacing is thin. There are lots of little, tight bubble streams with this one. Aroma is of bready, strawberry juice, and the flavor is the same, with a sugar background and a citrus acidity. No bitterness is detected. The mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and Covington Brewhouse Strawberry Ale finishes mostly dry, somewhat crisp, sweet, and fairly refreshing. Overall, for a fruit beer, it’s very good. RJT
