Black with small tan head. Smokey roasted aroma, also alittle bandaid mixed in. The taste was the same with flavors of smoke, vanilla, and medium roasted malt. Nice smooth body.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 alobar (1962) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 5, 2010
Pours a black color with a off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and a hint of bourbon. Largely roasted malt flavor with coffee, hint of smoke in the flavor. No bourbon noticeable. Decent porter, but could use more smoke.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Birdiebeagle (959) - Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 4, 2009
Draft Pours a deep black with a small tan head. Has good aromas of roasted malts, alcohol, coffee, and some fruits. Has a good blend of flavors. A solid finish and a thick texture. This is a pretty good drinking porter. Has a heavier body than most but it works for this one. I liked this one a lot, well done.

Dark color with aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, and bourbon. Taste had lots of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and whiskey, but was a bit on the thin side for my liking. The best one there - rather creative for such a small place.

This year’s batch weighs in at 6.5% abv...
Appears a dark brown with a dark tan head that slowly fades out into a pillowy cap. Solid streaks of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of sweet raisins, brown sugar, maple syrup, bourbon, oak, vanilla, and perhaps some yeastiness. I didn’t get much of the smokiness at all in the aroma but it was very nice nonetheless.
Taste is of the same aromas with a nice, chewy cocoa flavor that slowly comes out as it warms to compliment the raisin and caramel flavors.
Mouthfeel is chewy, medium bodied, along with a bourbon & oak overtone running along the palate like cola.
Overall, not bad. I would be proud if I brewed this beer and it turned out this well.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 whaleman (2176) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 24, 2006
UPDATED: MAY 25, 2006 Deep dark brown body with a clingy beige head. Pleasant aroma of vanilla bean, moderate sweet smoked malt, and apparent whiskey. Flavor has malt syrup highlights with strong creamy vanilla and whiskey characters plus earthy smoke and pumpkin squash qualities. Sweet and seemingly underattenuated. Insufficient body with a short finish. Would benefit from a more dextrinous texture achieved with a higher mash temperature (assuming this brewpub actually has a mashtun, which is doubtful).
