Crosling (1637), Loveland, Colorado, USA Jul 30, 2008 Dark brown colored brew. Long lasting foam. In the nose, toasty and roast-like malts, with hints of brown sugar, butter and dark fruits, along with a touch of diacetyl. Not much malt depth or describable malt character in the flavor. Unfortunate off flavors (metal, cleaner) seem to steal the show. Decent, drinkable brew with potential. BarliTruebeard (16), Greeley, Colorado, USA Jul 6, 2008 I purchased this directly from the brewery itself in Greeley. Had a wonderful combination of hops and nutty roasted malt aroma. Decent tan head on pour but quickly went away. Nice dark brown with scarlet overtones. Taste is just what I was hoping for. Rich malts, nutty, hint of chocolate malt. Good hop balance. Better than other local browns I’ve had. Would recommend to anyone. waolsen (956), Littleton, Colorado, USA May 6, 2007 bottle. brown with nice clarity. rising bubbles to huge off white ehad. lacing throughout. floral hops, roasted nuts, spicey aroma. way too much carbonation and watered down. floral hops and roasted nuts. weak amlt backing. Ringo (959), Loveland, Colorado, USA Mar 23, 2007 This is an average but pleasantly drinkable brown ale from the cow town of Greeley CO. Beaver (474), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Feb 25, 2007 Updated: Apr 2, 200712 oz bottle. Pours brown with ruby highlights. It has a decent off-white head that quickly disappears completely.
The aroma is sweet nutty malts and some toffee and cola.
The flavor is sweet nutty malts and cola. The mouthfeel is medium and kind of watery with a little sharp carbonation.
Overall, a rather bland nut brown.
