COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Serenity meets sweet and savory with this scrumptious seasonal beer. Real CSA locally grown pumpkins are baked, chunked and thrown directly into the mash tun with a cornucopia of spices. Perfect on a fall day when the leaves begin to change. Loving this beer is as easy as pie!

Sampled at the brewery. Pie spices are the dominating character of this beer. The malts do cut through the spices with some bready notes. Solid pumpkin beer.

Bottle. A red tinted copper body with a thin off white head. Ginger and soured pumpkin dominate the nose. There is also some insulation. The taste is like gingered up pumpkin and some raw dough. There is also raw potato thrown in to balance out the dough. After a few drinks, I started to get hints of sour. Hmmm, an infection like I have gotten in a couple of other Crabtree beers? Another questionable brew.

Pour is a murky brown with a small white head. Aroma is plenty of spice with some lingering pumpkin. Flavor is again more spice than pumpkin. Finish is a little watery but you can also say this is not as heavy as most pumpkin beers. This was a nice beer.

Beaver (1219) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 15, 2012
12 oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy copper orange with a smallish head that quickly goes to a very thin collar.

The aroma is pumpkin and a great blend of spice. It dissipates a lot as it sits.

The flavor is rather subdued compared to the draft version. Sweet malts with some pumpkin and lots of pumpkin spices. The mouthfeel is pretty full bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, this is one of my favorite pumpkin beers. On draft, I liked this better than DFH Punkin in a side by side comparison. This bottle is a bit more subdued than remembered though.

Brouwerij (889) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 14, 2012
Pours a hazy dark copper with a half finger of diminishing head. Smells sweet with spices, nutmeg and/or all-spice? Hints of pumpkin aroma. Flavor is pumpkin with nutty tones, with a minimally bitter finish. Moderate carbonation and medium body, and a smooth mouthfeel. Goes down easy. Another highly drinkable pumpkin beer from a local brewer.

Ernest (6031) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 20, 2012
Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, caramel), with a strong note of nutmeg/allspice, other notes of sour apple, detergent, lemon juice, unripe peach, and dirty sweatsocks. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Pretty much everything coming out of this brewery is infected these days. The spices attempt to cover it up, but in the mouth it’s sour and dirty tasting with very little sugars left. Sad.

natejgood (390) - Bozeman, Montana, USA - OCT 14, 2012
Pours a clear golden brown with a minimal white head. Sweet aroma with hints of pumpkin and spice. Good pumpkin pie spice flavor, but a bit sweet and syrupy and not as crisp in the mouth as some pumpkin ales. For those who like their pumpkin ales a bit on the sweeter side this might be a good one to try.

notalush (4631) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 12, 2012
Hazy rust color - fizzy body at first, but fails to kick up a head - doesn’t really look all that good - a lot of pumpkin, moderate muddled spiciness and a light sourness in the nose - a little watery in the mouth, especially in the finish - medium dry, with heavy roasted pumpkin in the flavor - strong spiciness on the tail end - some cinnamon, nutmeg and an almost peppery finish - a little sour at the end - meh - you’d better really love pumpkin if you want to try this and even then prepare to be underwhelmed.

Tap. Pours clear copper with a small, fizzy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, pie crust and biscuit malt with pumpkin notes. Flavor is malt and spice blend with pumpkin notes, light hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation.
