COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Eclipse, our Belgo-Style Black IPA is an exquisite fusion of black, roasted chocolate malts, and a generous heap of hops. It’s bitterly aggressive with a roasty quality, fruity esters and a spice scent making this one superior brew.

Can, courtesy of Pinball. Brownish black, frothy, quickly diminishing beige head. Roasted aroma - licorice, coccoa powder, dark fruits. Hops not that present in the nose. Taste is sweet roast with quite som licorice and a bitter hop punch. Some alcohol in the finish. A little out of balance, more black than IPA - some more distinctive hops would fit the brew....

Can 1 pt. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a cloudy dark brown with an orange hue and a dense and frothy beige head with good retention. Sweet roasty nose with a whiff of aromatic hops. Medium body, lowish carbonation, subtle roast, some licorice and a little ashes. Some bitterness in the finish from both malts and hops. 270612

Can. Pours near opaque with a large, frothy light tan head, long retention with excellent, sticky lacing. Aroma is roast malt with woody, ash, and earthy notes, pine and resin hops, prune and raisin esters with faint licorice notes. Flavor is roast malt and nutty with moderate hops and bitterness, dark fruity esters stay behind giving complexity, and finishes very dry and somewhat spicy. Medium-full body, medium carbonation.

16 oz tall boy. Poured a dark brown, almost black, with a khaki head. Smell is earthy, citrus, grapefruit, spice, cocoa, and light roast. Taste is earthy, light chocolate, coffee, spice, and citrus with a moderately bitter finish. There is a lingering coffee/chocolate taste in my mouth that I am thoroughly enjoying and the belgian yeast really makes this beer interesting. Great lacing, creamy mouthfeel, and medium carbonation. A lot going on in this beer and I really enjoyed it. Pretty good.

Pours dark black with large amount of brownish head. Fruity, citrus, chocolate, hoppy nose. Taste is sweet chocolate, pine bitterness, and fruity esters from the belgian yeast. A little too confusing with too much going on. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
