Crosling (1604), Loveland, Colorado, USA Jun 28, 2008 Cloudy orange color with a smaller foam. Nice purity in the nose which shows a lot of hearty wheat and malt characteristics. Also some notes of banana and clove. Flavor is really spot on, rich and hearty for the style. Lots of yeast character and true weizen notes. Banana, vanilla, clove, spice. Even a great mouth feel. An impressive hefeweizen. Beaver (462), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Mar 1, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden amber with a creamy white head that retains and laces the glass.
The aroma is traditional hefe - yeasty bananas and cloves with some wheaty malts.
The flavor is sweet and spiced bananas with some yeast funk leading to a light hop finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with some sharp carbonation.
Overall, a decent hefe (not my favorite style). It is pretty similar to the Haystack by Lefthand, but a tad more adventurous.
dwyerpg (1990), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Dec 27, 2006 This has a good German-style aroma and is very cloudy yellow orange. The flavor is neally nice too, not icky or funky, almost with some faint heaviness to it. It finishes a little poorly, but I was much impressed after the bad brown. ratman197 (2190), Arvada, Colorado, USA Oct 3, 2006 Bomber poured a clear dark gold with a disapatinmg white head. Aromas of wheat, light banana and a hint of spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of wheat and light fruitiness with a crisp dry finish. Aubrey (2554), Denver, Colorado, USA Aug 15, 2006 Slightly hazy with a nice orange hue and a sudsy head. Soft palate. Chewy wheat; yeasty. Nice and zingy hops had some tasty flavors. Subtle fruit. Moderate bitterness; balanced. Decent beer, though not overly exciting. Funny, same exact score as Brian.
