UPDATED: NOV 24, 2011 Smokey aroma, like burnt wood. With amber color and thick head. Yeasty-smoky-bready flavor. First smoked beer i’ve tried. But i think i will have to try it one more time to be 100% sure about my ratings....

Keg at Craft Brewery, Athens. It pours amber, with a thick yellow-white head. The nose is smoke, bonfire, burnt firewood, bbq and bacon. The taste is brown bread, yeast toasted malt, light metal, only a light smokiness, wood, earth and manure. Light to medium body and fairly high carbonation. Smells great, but taste doesn’t quite live up to it.

Pours amber with a short-lived, sudsy head. Nose shows some smoke with bacon characters, along with light fruity hops, bready malt and a soft cooked vegetable note. Flavours continue along those lines: bready, grainy malt with cardboard character, campfire smoke and a light fruity lilt towards the end. Very watery body. I prefer more sweet malt in my smoke beers.

Bottled 0.33L. Mild smokey and malty nose. Pale fast disappearing head. Slightly dark golden colour. Mild smoky and malty and slightly bitter taste. At the end hoppiness. Average hopped.

Bottle@Hotel. Lots of smoke in the aroma, unexpected I must say, nice. Dark yellow/golden, off-white head, good lace. Light sweet, lots of smoke, bitter, light fruity. Medium body, dry-ish. Flavourful, balanced, well brewed.
