Pinball (2068), Allerød, Denmark Jun 13, 2009 33cl bottle, bought in la boheme to take with me. rethymno, crete.
amber, small thick white head that goes away quickly.
distinctively smoked aroma, also some peach, the fruity touch a little disturbing to the very very nice wooden smoked aroma.
flavor is very mild, smoked wood, faint caramelly sweetness, very faint flowery note to it, probably hops, intersting that the beer has loads of delicate smoke, but no roasted grans in it. very clear smoke profile. cool!. the rough smoked sensation balanced nicely with soft mildness and slight sweetness.
palate is very soft and velvety.
if you like smoked, you’ll love this one dagimp (48), Philly, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 7, 2009 On tap at Green something or other cafe in Athens. Smokey smell. Little bit of head which dissipated quickly. Taste was.... smokey! A bit sour too. Kind of odd, but I thought it would be heavier just because of the smokey taste, but it wasn’t. Kudos to Craft for bringing some good beer to Greece. I’m not a big fan of smoke flavor in general, but if you are, and can deal with the sourness, this is a good beer. zakkbironia (57), Athens, Greece Jun 1, 2009 330 ml bottle. Beautiful brown golden color and white foam. But its taste is the true experience. It gives you a rare spice as you drink it. Unusual but worth a try. Actually I tasted bacon! bierkoning (5457), La Tropica, Netherlands May 26, 2009 Bottle from Nightfall, thanks! Golden color. Smoked cheese aroma with beechwood. Milky flavor, lightly smoked, with beechwood and smoked cheese, and hints of peach and apple. Not in any way comparable with the great Bamberg beers, but this is a very pleasant lager! ante (2801), Stockholm, Sweden May 12, 2009 Bottled at Monks Café, Stockholm. Clear amber with a low white foam. Fragile tarry aroma. Medium to light-bodied with notes of licorice and smoked fish. Short finish with notes of peat and straw. omhper (11601), Stockholm, Sweden Apr 29, 2009 Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Clear amber, coarse head. Smokey beechwood aroma. Fairly sweet with clean rounded mouthfeel. Fruity with smokey sausage aroma and low bitterness. Pleasant, mid intesnity beechwood smoke, but a bit clean in the mouth. fonefan (8711), VestJylland, Denmark Apr 2, 2009 Bottle 33cl. @ [ Chris O’s pre NYE Tasting ]. Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, moderate to heavy smoked, smoked danish salami. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20081230] Magicdave6 (4708), London, Greater London, England Feb 3, 2009 Bottle at chris o’s teabag for 2009 tasting. Alround rating: Just a great clean smoked lager, its a little subtle in the smoke as its mainly in the aroma, but i ended up drinking a whole bottle of the stuff at a tasting of 70ish beers.
