COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop Nectar is a semi-sweet metheglin mead that is crafted with 100% raw Ohio wildflower honey, water, and yeast. This traditional mead is then dry hopped with Cascade Hops prior to bottling for a perfectly balanced profile. Ohio wildflower honey provides the perfect platform for showcasing the king of American hops.

Sample at the Meadery on 4/5/14. Clear blanc in color with no head and no legs. Aroma of mint, pine and honey. Flavor starts with honey sweetness, quickly moving to a piney and grassy hop finish.

Sample at the tasting room. Pours a crystal clear pale yellow color with slippery legs on the glass. Aroma of citrus and honey. Full-bodied with flavors of dank hops, cinnamon and honey. The finish is fruity and sweet with a mellow hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle at Fermentation. Very light clear yellow pour. Up front citrus and pine hoppiness with dry honey. Slightly hoppy flavor with sweet honey ending on a bitter dry note. Pretty good.

From a bottle at the vintage estate. Clear water looks. Sweet fruity mild perfume. Taste is bitter, I never liked the effect that hops have on mead, ruins it. No nice. Could use some manners. Bitter medicine. Leave hops for the beer dude.

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2013 Clear very light yellow hue. Aroma of white wine and grassy hops. Flavor is kinda sharp and bitter with lots of grass and herbal tones, and a subtle honey sweetness that sorta comes across as white wine.

2/13/13. Sample from a distro. Clear light golden pour. The aroma hits with Cascade hops straight away - fresh citrus, hoppiness, fruitiness, and a bit of green - which mixes well with the sweet honey. Lightly sweet flavor with a touch of the hop character and plenty of nice, lightly sweet wildflower honey. This is a really good combination and better than the other hopped meads I’ve had in my day for sure.

Fruity floral aroma with hints of citrus blossom and fresh cut grass. Pours clear with a hint of gold. Still. Floral honey flavor upfront with citrus grassy notes and an earthy dry finish Very nice
