3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Lucky Baldwins. Clear gold in color with a white head; lacing. Aroma of fruit, grape, and bread/corn. Flavor of grapes, bread, corn, fruit. Pretty strong flavor that was slightly sweet. Top notch for the style.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft @ Father’s Office (Santa Monica). Pours a bright, effervescent yellow color; mixed-bubbled white head with great retention and gorgeous lacing; a beautiful pour. Very dry, crisp aroma showing herbal and grassy hop character; refreshing, light graininess; lovely crisp nose. Light-to-medium body: lots of crisp, toasty and bready malt character; juicy herbal and mineral bitterness; an absolutely lovely premium lager (evidently: pale lager); balanced, crisp, perfectly attenuated, pleasantly soft-seeming water: great stuff here. Awesome, and something that I’d love to see more of. Medium finish of toasty grains, hints of vanilla, and plenty of herbal / grassy bitterness; great ending to a wonderful surprise.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Draft: O’Brien’s in San Diego, CA) Nothing special here; A very sweet, American pilsner that has balance between a moderately malty flavor and somewhat bitter hoppiness; The malty flavor is mostly that of sweet corn, however and isn’t in the same league as the better European pilsners; Medium bodied for a pilsner; Has a sweet "beer" nose"; Yellow/pale golden in color; Absolutely no head when poured; A few large carbonation bubbles rise through the beer when disturbed, but generally it appears fairly still; However, it has a well carbonated mouthfeel

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had this on draft at the Stone 9th party. Clear yellow with a nice, slightly sweet flavor. Far superior than the pale lager crap you see every where. Nice brew

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Trappist Provisions. Believe it or not, I’ve been tracking this one down for a while now. I can see why it’s rated so highly as a pale lager. It kind of changes your mind on what this style can actually be. It pours a clear golden color with a nice white head. The aroma is rather spicy and floral with a light maltiness that has some corn and apple, but not over the top. The flavor is full bodied with prominent spicy and floral hops, more corn and light malts. Very creamy mouthfeel. Excellent stuff.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAR 15, 2010 Rerate because Ken made such a flippin’ out about how great this was. I don’t feel any differently about it. Still corny, and reminds me a lot of Grain Belt. On tap @ Father’s Office L.A. Clear straw with a one finger white head, creamy with fair retention. Grassy citrus, corn, and pale grain domiante the aroma. The flavor is much the same, and, despite the sweetness (the big corn and sweet notes almost have me cry out "diacetyl! , but not quite), manages to pull off a semi-dry finish. Bitterness peaked @ a 2. Moderate prickly carbonation with a light body. Better and more flavorful than a macro, but not by enough for me to want to get this regularly.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled at the brewery...thanks Patrick! 18 karat golden color with a 1/3 inch ivory foam that left a descent amount of lacing. Nice, slightly herbal and bready nose/flavor with some grassy elements. Also showed moderate fruitiness. Didn’t get the heavy corn influence you would guess from the description. Somewhat sweet for the style but really enjoyed it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at Father’s Office. Without even knowing the commercial description, this beer screamed "corn" at my from first sniff. The thing is, it tastes like if a corny macro lager was actually good. Cool stuff. Hoppy, spicy aroma, with sweet corn and a fruity, yeasty element. The flavor has sweet corn, grainy bread and a medium-bitter, hoppy finish. Higher carbonation fits the style but is a bit much. A pretty interesting beer, but maybe not up to a great pils with the same craftsmanship.
