I had this on tap at Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in Long Beach, CA. It’s a dark brown pour with muted, neutral flavors.

Draft. Dark amber beer with a cream colored head. Caramel and light spice aroma. Caramel and light earthy flavor with light citrus. Medium bodied. Caramel and light earth lingers with light spice and light citrus. Acorns add a little strangeness.

on tap at Stone Brewery Bistro and Gardens. Brown, funky aroma and taste. Roasty. Wierd, not the style. COuld not finish. COuld be interesting if tweaked.

Poured a red/brown color. Aroma gave off some grain notes. Tastes like acorns but not overpoweringly nutty. Saison base gives it some lift. Really smooth.

Tap at Stone Bistro. Four buck for 8 ounces. Nice. Brown pour with no head. Aroma and flavor are dominated by sweet fruity esters. Carbonation is low and body is medium.

Amber in color with a soapy off-white head forming on top. I don’t know if it really smells like acorns, but it is somewhat nutty. It’s quite estery with lots of banana notes as well as some sweet apples. A bit of toasted malt and some sweet bread, maybe a bit of yeast. A bit of yeast flavor as well as some toasted bread. Still quite a bit of banana to it, maybe some toffee and nuts. It does have a slight butter flavor as it warms.

On tap. Pours with a hazed, deep brown body with a tan head. Aromas of acorns, nutty, earthy, meaty, toasty. Spicy, peppery phenols with light esters, a bit of roast. Nice yeast presence. Flavors are dry, spicy, light roast, peppery phenol, herbal and dry. Earthy, dried dates. Nice yeast character. Lively bubbles, dry, medium to lighter bodied. Didn’t feel the alcohol at all.
