3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Beachwood BBQ. Poured hazy yellow gold with a one finger head that settled to a cap. Aroma is lemon juice, lemon rind, grain, and sour vinegar. Taste is initially sour and citrusy then shifts to a barely sweet grain note. Medium bodied, crisp full mouthfeel, tart dry finish, active carbonation. Despite the label, this isnít a true Berliner Weiss, itís more of an American Sour with weiss roots.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at RateBeer Gallery II. Pours cloudy golden amber with a small white head and decent lacing. Aroma is brett, lemon, wheat, quite simple really. Flavor is medium plus tart, dry body, lemony citric with just a bit of funk. Light body, mouth puckering. Interesting and enjoyable.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap. A - this pours a nice light hazy straw with no head. S - this smells really really good. Wet oaky must, lemon zest, soft notes of stone fruit. M - light medium body. Higher than normal abv. Thicker than other weisses I've had. T - Wow! Didn't see this one coming. Really nice tastes. The tart, fruity, mustiness just balance so well. Lemon juice and funk atop a slight stone fruit skin and flesh. Wheat, simple sugars and lactic notes as well. Much like a barrel saison. O - the stand out of the ratebeer gallery II for sure. 4.3

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Ratebeer Gallery II. Pours sudsy gold. Nice lactic profile, soft lemony notes, firm acidity. A little full on the palate, would be nice to dial this down in ABV. But still a standout of the day.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tap at Gallery II: Beauty From A Barrel. I have only had 4-5 Berliner Weiss beers, but this is by far the best Iíve had. Pours a dirty golden color with wheat haziness. 1/2 finger white foam. Aroma is lactic, lemon, and slightly floral. Taste is clean sourness upfront, but not overpowering (so not exactly true to style) with lemongrass and lemon peel flavor. Sourness doesnít linger. Body is light, but more full compared to other Berliners. Very refreshing and enjoyable.
