On tap. Pours with a hazed yellow hued body and a white ring of head. Aromas are oddly sweet (fruity sweet), vanilla, perfume, tangerine and white wine. Lots of esters, light lactic. Flavors are sweet yet acidic fruit. Citrus (like orange creme), strawberry, white wine grapes, light funk, sweet/sour and lactic. Medium bubbles, floral, perfumey, lightly dry.

The beer is a hazy golden color with a thin white head. A very strong lemon aroma followed by nearly as much banana. Some fairly strong vanilla and maybe a bit of butterscotch. A hint of wheat and straw on the finish. As with the aroma, really heavy on the lemon and banana. Some straw, wheat, and grass give a touch of depth and complexity. I would have preferred a little less sweetness.

Tasted on tap at Beer Revolution on 2/17/2012. This sour/wild ale pours a hazy orange gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, tart and citrusy. A medium bodied sour/wild ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, a touch tart and a touch funky. Hops are floral and spicy. Nice carbonation. Good balance. Nice tartness throughout. It is very similar to a Berliner Weiss, but it is lacking that sharp tartness of a Berliner. Very refreshing. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly tart.

Hazy golden color/ white sheen. Berry fruit, tart wheat, lactic, dusty pale malt aromas. Light to medium bodied. Very nice lightly sour doughy white bread, lemony tart wheat, light berry fruit, lactic flavors--most tasty

FYI, I believe this should be a Berliner weisse, even though the ABV is high. Draught at Toronado SD. Cloudy straw yellow with small white head, fading to a thin ring pretty quickly. South lactic nose with some buttery notes and wheat, green apple following. Flavor is quite mouth-wateringly tart, still has the green apple, still a touch of butter. Dry wheat finish, lacto sourness peaked at a 7. Moderate prickly carbonation with a light to medium body. Aside from the butter (which did mostly subside), pretty good.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2011 I get the Berliner Weisse connection, but if Lucky Baldwins is calling this a sour ale, that’s good enough for me. Hazy dark yellow with a foamy white head. Sour green apple banana and strong bready aroma and taste with a tart dry sour finish.
