UPDATED: FEB 19, 2005 On tap at Father’s Office. Poured a deep brown with a large, retaining head. Malty start turns into creamy vanilla and then a tart, grape finish. An interesting, tasty beer. You really can’t taste the 8% either.

Had this one on tap at the San Diego Strong Ale Festival. It pours a fiery amber color with an enormous tanned head. It took a good minute or two before this was even drinkable because the mighty head refused to subside. The aroma is heavy vanilla with hints of almonds and cinammon. This had spicy written all over it. Definitely hints of a winter brew here. It's almost as if when it was poured, I knew it would wind up tasting just like this. Almost saison-like in its own way. There are some heavy sour notes at the end with a heavy emphasis on ginger right in the middle of the beer going down. Heavy orange and cinammon sticks in the aftertaste. Did i mention HEAVY orange in the aftertaste. I take it back..this is like drinking Sunny delight...its good for you too!

Medium orange color. VERY large white foamy head. Aroma is malty and orange, touch of wine like tartness. A medium bodied strong ale. Malts are fruity and somewhat sweet. Grapey would be a good description. Sweet without being overly sweet. Well balanced. Very smooth. This would make a good session beer if it weren’t 8%, as there is no trace of alcohol. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with a touch of tartness.

Sampled @ Strong Ale Fest san Diego

The beer pours a bemused amber color with the head modest in size and a light tan color, frothy in texture and the lace a nice covering sheet for the glass. Nose was sweet malt with a hint of the hop flowers, very fresh and clean to the senses, start is sweet and rich in malt, top middling in feel. Finish was brisk in its carbonation, the hops spicy and pleasant, also something we all remarked about was a “Grape Like flavor”, like “Welches Grape Juice”, not unpleasant, just a bit odd, well at least to me, sampled 3 times to get a handle on this one.

hazy orange-bronz glowing with smidgens of red..big peachy-tan head..delightfully creamy aroma with white grapes, must, and a mist of chocolate fumes..low carbination..subtle grapey sweetness, clean and maybe even a bit cakey...a tad sour with some white chocolate sprinkled grapes..clean, lightly chocolatey...and pretty cool yo'

Dark amber pour with a decent head.Light bodied with a sweet subduedcitrus thing going on. A very slight wine sourness in the finish. This would be an excellent session beer.
