On tap as Craftsman Flemish Red. Pours with a hazed, glowing red to orange body with a small white head that fades. Aromas are a bit sweet, jammy, estery, light caramelization. Vinous, fruity, lightly oaky, lactic, yogurt. Flavors show some good acidity up front. Strongly lactic, light oak. Very fruity, jammy, strawberries, raspberries and cherries. Light sweetness. Cleanly but strongly lactic, no acetic qualities. Lighter carbonation, medium bodied and a slightly tannic finish. On the sweeter side, but I still found it very enjoyable.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Dogbrick (4837) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 18, 2011
Sample at Bruery Provisions. This brew pours a reddish-orange color with a thin white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of tart fruit and malt. Light body with a midly tart fruity character with berry, malt and yeast notes. The finish is lightly sour with cherry aftertaste. Fairly straightforward overall, a decent Sour.

Tap. I really enjoyed this beer. I feel there is a really great red wine quality to both the aroma and flavor. I also detected the presence of oak. The flavor of the beer was very tart. I did not detect any vinegar or sweetness. This beer really reminds me of Supplication. So far all of the beers I’ve had from Craftsman have been enjoyable and I am looking forward to trying more.

A: The beer pours a dark orange/amber color with an off-white head.
S: Not a terribly intense aroma, but there is a fair amount of vinegar to it. Light citrus notes, mostly oranges, with some faint oak aromas. A decent amour of sweet malt, maybe some vanilla, too.
T: The flavor has a pronounced fruits note, especially pears and citrus. As with the aroma, some oak character and plenty of vinegar. A rather mild vanilla flavor and some caramel malt sweetness.
M: The body and carbonation are both medium.
O: The fact that it wasn’t totally overrun by acetobacter was nice, but not necessarily my favorite either.

On tap at Hamiltons. Clear reddish brown with an off white head. Aroma and taste of molasses and sour green apples with notes of vinegar and a nice crisp tart finish. Very good.
