3/13/11 notes: draft. Pours a clear, light ruby color with decent head retention. Nose is nice array of fresh berries, highlighting a bit of tartness from cherries. Body is light, a bit creamy, mildly drying on the finish. Flavor starts with malt, biscuit and berries, then moves deeper into real tart cherry notes and a touch of almond. Sweetness balanced nicely by acidity and lighter body. Very good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 beersearcher (1357) - Glendale, California, USA - APR 1, 2010
pours a really red color. Pleasingly tart. Not a super sour. Can feel my stomach rumble from the acid though. Good medium hit of cherry.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 womencantsail (3572) - Home of Rebecca Black, California, USA - MAR 12, 2010
A: The pour is a clear light amber color with a moderate white head and some spotty lacing.
S: The nose isn’t overly intense, but some nice tart lactic and citrus notes. There isn’t much in the way of funk, but there is some light toasty malt.
T: This isn’t terribly complex in the flavor department, especially for a sour ale. The lactic acid provides a nice tartness along with a mild citrus bite. Again, the malt makes an appearance which isn’t all that usual for a sour beer.
M: The beer is medium bodied with a nice full carbonation and a moderately dry finish.
D: This is certainly a very easy beer to drink and would be a good introduction to sour beers. Not my favorite, but nice to try.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 joeneugs (1423) - Livermore, California, USA - MAR 5, 2010
On tap at Beachwood! It looks nice in the glass with a clear reddish color and an off white head. The aroma is a little bready and yeasty with sweet cherries. The flavor is the same. Nothing too potent and more sweet than sour, but not syrupy. Well crafted, but not very ambitious. I liked it though.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 iowaherkeye (2431) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 1, 2010
On tap at Toro SD. Clear copper with a one finger creamy beige head, fair retention. Aroma is composed of a little acetic acid, stale pale malts, hints of biscuits, and cherries of the duchess bourgogne variety. Flavor has fresher cherries and some dusty yeast, the skins coming through more towards the finish. Otherwise much the same. No alcohol presence, sourness peaked at a 2, bitterness at a 3. Medium body with light carbonation. Not a fan.
