Consumed on draft at The Village Idiot, 10/15/07. Medium amber/copper color, proper head & lacing. Aroma primarily malt, as was flavor. Grainy, bready, slightly sweet as appropriate for style. Simple flavor profile, left almost no aftertaste. A real "lawnmower beer". Overall, a reasonable represntation of the style but nothing exceptional.

Dark golden orange. Smells sweet and is. But malt backbone props it back up. Very Germanic.

Served cold from tap. Good appearance and head. Not my favorite Craftsman brew, but a good beer nonetheless. Amber color, creamy head, malty flavor, good mouthfeel, would drink again.

Pours a clear amber color with thin white head. Nice drinkable oktoberfest. Caramel malt, grain, and hints of floral hops. Nice flavor, but nothing special.

On tap @ O’Brien’s San Diego. Pours a mostly clear amber/ brown with a frothy off white head that left great lacing. Pretty much your standard Oktoberfest aromas and flavors (toasted malt with some grain and hops).

(Draft: 2005 Stone 9th Anniversary Festival in Escondido, CA) Hmm, I’m not too fond of this beer. The flavor is lightly sweet and malty, but is just missing the rich German maltiness I like so much. But more importantly, it’s also fairly bitter and hoppy and the finish is just way too bitter for me. Too much "West Coast" in this beer. Medium body, some crispness in the finish from the bitterness. I get nothing out of the aroma, perhaps a vague maltiness once more headspace opens up in the glass. Hazy, dark amber color. The off-white head pours small and quickly settles to a powdered sugar topping. Not liking this one too much.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 riversideAK (4566) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - OCT 23, 2007
Amber color with a beige head. Caramel malt and grainy aroma. It is sweet and malty, but to a point where I thought it was adjuncty. My least favorite Craftsman beer that I have had.
