3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JCB (3804) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JAN 19, 2013
On tap at Father’s Office, Santa Monica. Nice looking pour, a bright orange with just the faintest haze to give it a fresh, rustic look. Nice vibrant head, contrast looks like a creamsicle. Nose of soft funk, herbs, dry hops, and a dash of kiwi and tangerine. Playful carbonation on the palate. Complexity of the nose is there, but tends to taper into dry, semi-tart finish in a way that nicely ties things together. Good stuff.

Pours transparent golden orange with a small white head. Nose is spicy, bready yeast smell, lemon and straw. The taste is sweet with a nice tart and bitter balance. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean, light body and a long finish.

Clear golden orange pour with a white head. Tart and lactic aroma, strawberry, raspberry, citrus, and lots of yeast. Melon, sweet bread, and some cracker notes. A little bit of grass and must, too. Nice tartness to the flavor. Citric and lactic, melon, strawberry, and like zest. Very mild sweetness, yeast, grass, and a light mustiness. Nice dry finish.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 BMan1113VR (7380) - Los Angeles, California, USA - DEC 9, 2012
On tap. Pours with a hazed orange hued body with a small white head that lasts. Aromas are funky and lightly vinous with hints of leather, dry fruit, and pear like esters. Low malt character. Flavors are funky with possibly a bit of oak. Strawberry like esters, medium bitter and dry. Damp leaf character towards the finish. Medium carbonation. I found the rustic/damp leaf character made this saison a bit cumbersome to drink towards the end of the glass.
