Jul 10, 2008 On tap at Beachwood BBQ. I was nervous about this one tasting too much like a breakfast sausage. It did a good job of not tasting like it. In fact at the beginning it was absolutely delicious. A tad spiced was all. However as it went on, the sage became more obvious in burps and it actually became rather unpleasant. I would recommend half of a glass, then quit there.

Jul 3, 2008 On tap at Lucky Baldwins. Pours with a small, tight, off-white heead that leaves some lacing. Body is a murky dark gold. Aroma has lots of sugar, coriander and sage. Taste is sage, banana esters, alcohol, and spiceyness. Lively bubbles with a syrupy mouthfeel. Intense, but at the same time, extremely refreshing on a 90 degree Pasadena day.

May 27, 2008 Cloudy dark straw colour. Big nose mixes sage with bubblegummy, slightly clovey notes. Fizzy mouthfeel. Lots of sage, yeasty spiciness. Quite a bit of late sweetness. Not sure it’s entirey cohesive but it’s fun and enjoyable all the same.

May 12, 2008 I really could not taste the sage flavor.....tasted at the stone brewery...and it had a nice malt flavor...but seemed quite sweet.....weird considering the other reviews that I have read?

May 3, 2008 From brewery. Hazy golden with small white creamy head. Engaging, sweet, friendly nose with fun splashes of agave syrup. Excellent fruit nuances include guava, custard apple. How much fun is a brewer allowed to have?

Oct 5, 2007 On tap. I was highly impressed with this beer. The sage complimented the hops and yeast perfectly. Despite the sage flavor, this was a fairly light, fairly dry beer (I strongly prefer dry beers over sweet beers). The alcohol is pretty well hidden, given its high percentage. Nice sharp carbonation without too much froth.

hazy amber, thin beige head, wonderful fresh sage aroma, dry malt flavor with just enough hop to balance, just a touch of the sage in the flavor to add complexity and a touch of bitterness, very drinkable

Aug 28, 2007 served on tap. like their 1903 lager, for some reason i couldn’t really tell the aroma. it tasted sweet, and the sage was definitely noticeable. tasted good, but might skip over it next time.
