3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bubbleflubber (1228) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - AUG 31, 2011
My first zwickel, and from the brewery growler. The pour is deep golden, with a frothy white head that reduces to a thin ring, leaving little to no lace. The nose is of hay and grain. Flavors are similar, with predominant pilsner malt, backed with some hay and lemon mid-palate. Barnyard accents and a plethora of hopping in the finish leaves a nice bitter back. Decently drinkable for the newest style in my arsenal.
