COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Agent Provocateur is a strongly hopped beer - a hybrid of an IPA and a Belgian golden ale. Bright, colourful notes of exotic fruits (pineapple, grapefruit and lime) and spices give way to a solid, long bitter finish. This beer is an excellent aperitif and goes perfectly with spicy food. Brewed by Craig Allan @ De Proef

Orange coloured beer, ok head, should be a bit bigger, and hold a bit longer. But sticks nice to the glass. Hoppy, citrus-fruits, spiced. Light dry bitterness, a bit earthy at the finish.

Pours golden pumpkin in color with a fluffy crew cut of white foam. Copper/pennies on the aroma at first. Hopefully this dies down with a little breathing. I’m also detecting some sharp pine needle notes, a subdued apple ester note, and a touch of green banana. This beer is meant to be a hybrid of IPA and Belgian blonde, and it shows, albeit with subtlety. The blonde aspect comes through with some soft fruit salad flavors (apple, banana) and an unmistakeable Belgian yeast character, while the IPA part manifests mainly as a mild bitterness and herbal edge on the finish. The palate is very nice in a hedonistic sense here. Surprisingly creamy and fulfilling, which combines with wheat-derived esters to give the impression of a rich hefe or a light weizenbock on the tongue. Not really the ideal presentation for a blend of two styles that are best when dry, but there’s no denying that this tastes and feels good, so to hell with style. This is way on the modest side of the Belgian IPA spectrum, but it achieves what it wants to and it’s tasty. Only downside is the aroma, which after several minutes is still dusty and metallic.

[thanks bigbro]
Pours light hazy golden with a big, frothy/bubbly white head. Lovely fruity aroma, green apples, peach, apricot, crisp sweetish malts. Highish carbonation, dryish and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has fine crisp malts, light doughy, some biscuity notes. Pepper, pineapple, peach and pine. Fine lingering dryness in the finish. Nice.

nice bright citrus/pineapple hop aroma backed by a bit of sugary belgian sweetness. pours a slightly cloudy pale orange with fizzy white head. flavor is fairly mild, lighly sweet and bitter, mostly hops, a bit grainy. super dry, overcarbonation, slightly astringent, with refreshing mild bitter finish. this is ok with a good aroma, but is not quite right.

A clear golden colored beer, with a thick foamy white head. The aroma of hops and fruits. The taste is fruity like citrus, with hop bitter. The aftertaste is bitter with some sweet.

Bottle. Golden, hazy, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty and sweetish fruity aroma, fruity citrus hoppyness and some caramel. Body is medium, malty – lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish flavor, fruitiness with light citrus hoppyness, some caramel. Finish is average, malty – lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish, fruitiness with some citrus hoppyness and caramel. Too much malty sweetness and too little hoppyness for me.

Tap@LaCapsuleLille. Hoppy but overall pretty standard blond Belgian ale. Nothing much to mention.

Botted 330ml. -Courtesy of Marko (thanks!), shared with heavy and him.
Slight hazy orange/golden coloured, small white head, lemony fruity nose. Lemony hoppy, slight caramel and agrumey taste with mild bitter finish. Nice one.

First missed this at the Abbaye des Saveurs in Lille, because I couldn’t carry anymore really, but thankfully found it later at Cave a Bulles in Paris. Shared with the usual suspects. POured a murky peach colour with a slightly off white head that went away slowly. Sweet aromatic hoppy nose, lime, some yeastiness, ok enough. Light soft agrumey taste, not much bitterness. Smooth, a bit light and overall nice!
