3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Academie Biere in Paris. Poured a glowing orange color with active carb bubbles. The aroma was grassy hops with citrus. The taste added apple, peach, pineapple, and a peppery resin note on the finish. Medium mouthfeel. Overall a very enjoyable hoppy Belgian golden ale recommended by the bartender with our lunch.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Apparently brewed in Belgium for / by a Scottish brewer living in France, if I am correctly informed... Regular, brightly white, mousse-like head, colour a pure golden blond, clear but misty after addition of the ’fond’. Nose gets apple, unripe peach, orange peel, wheat, bread, honey and grassy hops; taste a nice rounded dryish fruitiness in onset, fresh citrus notes, in the middle a soft, somewhat caramel-like maltiness and gently spicy yeastiness but otherwise a bit neutral, finishing grassy and slightly spicy bitter (hops) with mineral undertone. Not much of an IPA in my opinion, rather a typical Belgian blonde ale of medium strength. Not bad, though.

On tap at Archive Beer Boutique. Rating from September 2013. Bit of a funky aroma going on with hops and tropical fruit dominating.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle 330ml (Saveur)
Clear golden color, small white head. Belgian yeasty, strong grassy hoppy aroma. Slightly earthy. Light to medium-bodied. Strong grassy hoppyness, fruity, a bit alcoholic and earthy flavor. White peppery too. A bit strange for a De Proef belgian ale.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Not much going on here I’m afraid. I’m just getting "lager" in the aroma. Taste is smooth, slightly bitter and palate is quite silky. Not unpleasant but "provocateur" is a bit of an exageration.....

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
At a tasting, thanks Tom, sallish creamy head, hazy golden to light orange colour, ysty saison aroma with some citrus and flower, soapy bitterness, some fruitiness and a touch of malt in the back. Drinkable but not too exciting.
