COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Agent Provocateur is a strongly hopped beer - a hybrid of an IPA and a Belgian golden ale. Bright, colourful notes of exotic fruits (pineapple, grapefruit and lime) and spices give way to a solid, long bitter finish. This beer is an excellent aperitif and goes perfectly with spicy food. Brewed by Craig Allan @ De Proef

Corpo medio-basso, carbonazione discreta. Buona.

Bottle. Aroma is mild with citrus and floral notes. Taste is definetly IPAish with strong bitter hoppy and lemony notes. You can find the Belgian ale in the background. Nicely balanced.

330ml bottle, BBE 07/11/14. Pours a hale orange with a large and clean white head. Aroma is fruity, citrusy, light gooseberry and white currant. Taste is dry, medium bitter, quite light. Citrusy, lemony, slight touch of grape, touch of Belgian yeast characters in the background. Surprisingly light taste considering all things. Palate is medium with some carbonation. Forgettable really.

Tasted many times in France on draft and in bottles. At best this is an original beer marrying the spiciness and roundness of a belgian ale with the citrus character of American hops. At worst the Belgian character dominates and the hops are obscured leaving a good but less interesting Belgian style, hoppy beer. On draft this beer can be excellent and truly original defying style characterizations (it’s definitely not an IPA).

33cl bottle, Geers. - This smooth and cloudy golden ale is pleasant and light enough, but suffers from many other fancily-hopped traditional ale recipes brewed at De Proefbrouwerij to impress traditionally-minded continental EU palates. Perfume and taste are indeed mildly and pleasantly citrus- and pepper-bright with hops, but mf and malt base give off that typical sterile PB impression, rather chalky and too sweet to round off a refreshing brew. Agent provocateur? In a scenario that features Pelforth and Kronembourg as the bourgeoisie, at best. Or by calling this an IPA.

2013.04.25 - bottle 33cl - bottle could not be more full, orange beer with white head - nose : hops, bit citrus - mouth : hops, starts a little bitter, but ends more in a sweet way.

Pours gold into a snifter. White head with good retention recedes to hug rim. Honey and caramel aromas. Sweet yeast and tropical fruit front to back. Dry, lasting pepper finish.

Dobre i ciekawe piwo. Nazwa prowokacyjna:) i polecam skosztować je.

Draught at La Fine Mousse, Paris. Lighly hazy golden, small head. Sugary nose with gooseberry and mango. Very sweet with clean mouthfeel and medium body. Clean with the sort of generic, half lifeless de Proef mouthfeel. A thin layer of tropical fruits. Mid bitter finish.

on tap at la fine mousse, paris. relatively clear light golden with a decent white head, some retention. breadied malts, cereals, fruitiness - apricots, some belgiumness. definitely something wrong with this brew - as per the managers’ sayings too - don’t understand why it was still on menu... average to soft carbonation, light to medium body - oily, short lightly herbal finish. where are the hops? will re-rate for sure...
