On tap at the Alibi Room - pours a deep amber. Flavour is sweet, nutty, and malt-caramel. Quite good, but the different elements don’t work exceptionally well together.

on tap-pours a retaining thin light tan head and amber color. Aroma is nutty, medium malt-caramel/some chocolate. Taste is medium malt-caramel/some chocolate, nutty, secondary earthy hops. OK, but doesn’t quite balance/work well together. Some fruitiness, finishes dry. Medium body. This batch, different yeast-[American Ale yeast #2]. OK carbonation.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 CapFlu (3798) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 26, 2006
(Draught) Deep orange body with a dissipated tan head. Nose is very light (probably because these beers are served at freezer temperatures) - good caramel malt with a grainy hop flavour. Good.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Oakes (10184) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 11, 2006
Slightly hazy golden-amber. Toasty, lightly caramelly aroma. Clean, almost too clean with hints of caramel. Well-made, very even, bit light but I’m looking forward to revisiting this when I make it to the brewpub.
