3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Crisp slightly hazy light copper coloured body with a thin, one centimetre tall head and some nice microscopic bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of fresh earthy and citrusey hops with a bit of a caramel note and some malt noticeable as well. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and citrusey hop flavours up front with some pine and herbal notes on the back end. Aftertaste shows a smooth malt character, some lighter sweetness and a little grassy bitterness left over from the hops. Overall, a nice and a relatively smooth beer with some good hop notes, but not much bitterness, but a good balance and a light sweetness. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchantís in Dearborn, Michigan on 02-August-2013 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 10-December-2013.

Bottle. Frothy white head. Cloudy light honey color. Some lace. Grapefruit hop aroma. Balanced hop bitterness. Very traditional IPA flavor and finish. This is a very solid IPA. Would certainly drink again, but wouldnít necessarily seek out.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle and served in my GI IPA tulip: pours a deep golden near amber hue with a solid frothy head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of tangerine, grapefruit, dank herbal and resiny piney esters along with some biscuit and caramel notes. The taste is moderate bitter but does have a nice balance from the malts, light peppery and metallic finish. The mouthfeel is sprite and clean, not massively aggressive however. I like this but do wish the finish was longer.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle. (Sicilianoís) Grand Rapids, MI.
Clear amber colour with a small foamy light tan head.
Exotic fruity and soapy hoppy aroma.
The flavour is soapy and a bit resiny hoppy. Sweet malty body.
Light and slick. Not my favourite IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at the brewpub, Big Rapids. Hazy medium orange body, thin beige head. Sweet, piny and citrusy nose with concentrated grapefruit and hints of pineapple. The body is lighter than anticipated with lots of pine, grapefruit, and pineapple and a light toasty malt backbone. Floral, sweet, and spicy; bright and fresh. Clean and sharp. This is quite nice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured into a shaker pint. No bottling date.
Appearance: Simple looking black label with a portrait of a person that I should maybe possibly know but donít. Not especially fancy, but itís decent (muchlikethebeeritself*AHEM*). Slightly hazy yellow color with about three fingers worth of a soapy kind of head. It dies down slowly after awhile, but a fingerís worth sticks around the whole time. Lacingís patchy.
Smell: Soapy hops. To be more specific, piney hops. Malt spiciness is also there. Itís alright, but somewhat odd at the same time.
Taste: That soapy hop flavor is strong on the front, and then a surprisingly large amount of bitterness on the finish. Thereís a nice malty taste on the finish, but thereís still a lot of bitterness in spite of that. Rather dry and unbalanced. Iíve had worse IPAs, but this isnít exactly that great. The carbonation is about middle-of-the-road with a pretty light feel.
Forgettable IPA. Iíve had a few Crankers beers, and really, all of their beers have been rather average-at-best. If you want to try a beer from the brewery, try out their coconut porter.

Fantastic. Bitter & brisk -- just like me. This is the way I like my beers: hoppy & lively with a twangy grapefruit finish as I drink the heart out of a July evening listening to Molly the One Woahman band do her delta blues thrash thing on stage. Wish this poor Canadian boy could get his mitts on this more often.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 ounce bottle bought near Detroit. This pours an effervescent copper gold and wears a one finger off white head. Sticky uneven lacing. Good retention. I smell apricot and herbal notes along with caramel and pale malts. First sip is juicy and fruity. The hops have a bit of a bite to them but bitterness is moderate. It is fairly sweet and spicy. A hint of cinnamon with apricot and caramel. Tropical fruit. This is quite nice and really has no negatives.
