COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A West Coast style IPA, the Professor is golden and sports a large frothy white head. Hops leap out of the glass, citrus, apricot, and herbal notes define this brew. There is enough malty body to keep you coming back for more.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Dense foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity and balance of citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good sized pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Good robustness, complexity, and balance of citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a smooth, resinous/sticky, and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a good IPA. All around god robustness, complexity, and balance of citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Fairly dark gold pour with a creamy off white head. Solid malt backbone with citrus hop bitterness in the taste and aroma. A good solid IPA.

Bottle shared with Guinn on his front porch. Pours yellow with one finger of white head. Aroma is floral and fruity. Flavor lends to pine resin. Nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had on draft at the Ypsilanti Summer Beer Festival. I’m a little surprised by the very average ratings for this IPA. Not real strong and very easy drinking. Really nice flavors of citrus/grapefruit, pine, and mild hops. Very clean finish. More of a session IPA. Solid effort.

Great taste and aroma. First time having a beer from Crankers and I am really impressed. Definitely going to try their other offerings.

Courtesy of a trade from Strykzone. Poured apricot in color. White head. Good lacing. Nose of tropical fruit. Medium body. Flavor is tropical fruit. Some stone fruit. Not very bitter. More like APA than IPA but bet very tasty.

Pours golden with a slight haze from the residual yeast. Two-inch, off-white, persistent head formed and settled at about 1/4 inch. The nose has distinct pine-notes along with citrus notes that may have overwhelmed the malt notes. Medium-light body, albeit a little shorter palate than expected. Nice hop flavors intermingled with pine and herbal notes towards the finish. The malt notes on the palate are also subdued by the hop flavors and bitterness. Nice carbonation level. Belgian lace does form. The ABV is not noticeable. In sum, very decent and a pleasure to drink, but not an IPA to seek out.

Great nose and an understated (not sweet, not bitter) taste. These guys continue to impress with a solid portfolio of liquid.
