COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lean in body and powerful in flavour, Back Hand of God Stout (formerly known as "Black Wolfhound") has won three consumers’ choice awards. This dry stout is easy to drink, rich and inviting. It is extraordinarily smooth and mildly hopped with a distinct coffee/chocolate presence.

Black color, creamy head. Ashes and burnt malt aroma. Quite smooth mouthfeel; strong chocolate, burnt malt and coffee flavor; dry middle and final; correct bitterness. Simple but well balanced, and luckily the burnt component is not too disturbing in the final.

Near black, with only slight dark brown highlights. Chocolatey aroma with almonds, light roast. The flavour is semi-sweet chocolate, the body relatively full with hints of cream, nuts, coffee. The finish is mild and chocolatey. A pleasant, light, session stout.

Alibi Room with Tigglmtl, and so a surprisingly good stout that is underated. Great roast coffee aroma. Creamy medium mouthfeel taste, very fresh (and the all the difference) and roasty coffee. Lacey. Above average carbonation.

On tap at the Wolf and Hound. Pitch black and completely opaque with a thin tan head. Very nice coffee and chocolate aroma. Flavour also shows prominent coffee/espresso with much fainter chocolate. There is a cola-like character, along with some sourness and some nuttiness as well. The body was a bit thin but still quite good.

On tap @ Waterfront Wines in Kelowna. Inky brown-black with no head at all. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, cigar box, very lovely. Flavour is coffee dominated, but balanced nicely with dry roast. Finish has a light acidity. Very drinkable, flavourful, balanced stout.
