COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lean in body and powerful in flavour, Back Hand of God Stout (formerly known as "Black Wolfhound") has won three consumers’ choice awards. This dry stout is easy to drink, rich and inviting. It is extraordinarily smooth and mildly hopped with a distinct coffee/chocolate presence.

Great dark stout. Hard to find but when you do hunker down you are sure to have a few.

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2011 Strong espresso flavors and a similar nose. Smokey. Tasty, inviting and more- it is one of the best BC stouts. So creamy. The body is quaffable and thus it makes a good session stout. The deep roast never becomes overwhelming. Long lingering aftertaste. A very good beer and one of Crannog’s best.

Light yet earthy aroma. Nice black and tan head. Roasty and well balanced. Good body, malty with medium carbonation. This is a well-rounded organic stout at Vancouver's organic best, The Naam. Yummy. I want to die here with a dragon bowl in one hand and a Crannog Ale in the other.

Tap at Barley Station in Salmon Arm. Very dark brown with red highlights when held to the light. Rich malty nose more coffee than chocolate. Delicious malty chocolate coffee balanced light stout. Very tasty like a light chocolate pudding. A sessional as Oakes pointed out.

Certified organic Stout, mild finish, chocolate and coffee flavours tend to vary with batches but always drinkable. One of the few session stouts out there.

from tap at St. Augustine’s. Going through the reviews I think the recipe changes/has evolved. There was nothing simple about the brew. Tastes pure. Medium dark in color, medium head, more coffee with a hint of chocolate in the middle of the taste and a nice sweet oaty finish. Very good. Try it.

Crannog’s innocent looking stout has something which isn’t innocent at all: drinkability. Heavy, silky Italian coffee flavour, with a fine almost...chocolate-like nose. 5.2% placket, relaxed drink...innocence and mayhem at once.

Drought at The Railway Club.
Black beer with a tan head. Sweet and chocolaty aroma that came off a little plain. Medium thin feel with soft carbonation. Chocolaty with a slight bitterness and roasty, smokey flavour. Pretty good beer overall. Good name.

On tap @ Waterfront Wines in Kelowna. Inky brown-black with no head at all. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, cigar box, very lovely. Flavour is coffee dominated, but balanced nicely with dry roast. Finish has a light acidity. Very drinkable, flavourful, balanced stout.
