Oakes (6966), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Sep 11, 2006 Tap @ Cuppa Joe (4th & Alma): Hazy vibrant gold-tan colour. Whispy head. This really, really looks like a NW APA. Unique fruity-herbal, floral, toasty, maybe bubblegummy aroma...shades of Old Puddinghead in the esters. Rich, fruity flavour with a toasty, meaty malt backdrop. Full, bready body. Light herbal hops and a hint of bitterness props this up. Flavourful, well-balanced ale. Demonstrates that lightly-hopped and approachable doesn’t have to be boring if you’re willing to approach the issue with a little creativity.
