Cherry aroma is quite sour. Some wheat is also apparent. Very hazy, deep blonde coloured body is topped by a slight white head that recedes rapidly to ring. Lightly sour wheat and cherry flavour. Medium body with fairly low carbonation. Aside from a sticky sweetness, I found the mead was not really apparent. Sampled on cask at Dix (Caskival 2007).

Cherry aroma dominates the nose. Slightly tart from the cherry but not overpowering. The mead was hardly noticeable and but for the description I probably would have not recognized the flavour it added.

Hazy pinkish-beige. Light aroma has some cherry, not a ton else. Light cherry accents on the palate. The mead (sans smoke) comes through quite a bit in a warming umami kind of way, but doesn’t seem to meld all that well with the beer. (Speakings of...another meadery in BC wouldn’t hurt in the slightest.) The cherry is light, slightly tart. I’m not huge on Pooka to begin with, and I’d probably prefer the mead on its own.
