1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Cask at Crate Brewery in Hackney, London on 13 July 2013.
Poured a cloudy brown with not much white head. Funky aroma with a little grain and grass in there. Watery mouth feel, light sweet malts, but a rather sweaty cask flavour... Some residual bitterness. Donít think this was in the best condition, so probably worth re-rating when the opportunity presents itself.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras. Itís been ages since I had a beer that called itself a best bitter, itís all fancy smancy stuff in that there London now. Deep mahogany colour clear with thin beige head. Some caramel and toast on aroma. Yep a solid bitter. Does what it says on the tin. Not showy but the toast and the fruit are decent. Even a bit of walnut on the finish. Yes tasty, grew on me.
