A heavy dose of American hops, bitterness and a rich amber colour.

Keg at Crate. Deep golden red colour, not much head. Sweet American hop aroma, sweet citrusy taste, anaemic finish. I’m just back frim the states so may be biased but didn’t quite get this beer, clearly designed as an American-style IPA given the hop choices, massively lacking in punch, both bitterness and hop flavour, and yet to much abv to be a session beer. Tasted like an average ’craft beer’.

Bottle from the Good Spirits Co, Glasgow. Amber, with some froth which doesn?t last. Mildly hoppy nose, yellow fruits, tropical and citrus, a touch of toffee/caramel.Refreshingly bitter on the palate, some fruitiness, very clean juicy finish. Not a huge West Coast IPA, but with a nod towards that style.A session IPA.

Bottle from Archer Beer Stop, Sheffield. Amber, with a bubbly, broken, white head. Fruit salad juiciness. Nicely balanced malt. A juicy, light bitterness on the palate. Soft carbonation. Really liked this. Surprised at the relatively low, previous ratings.

Bottle at home. Pours a nice orangy amber with a thin white head. Toasty, bready, marmalade aroma. Medium body, mild carbonation. Some bread, biscuit in there then a touch of trop fruit, though the sweetness is minimal. It finishes dry with a touch of grapefruit. OK.

On tap. Aroma and taste of toast, caramel, floral and citrusy hops. Not a very complex and bold beer, but well made. Easy to drink. I could session that.

Aroma: light on hops, sweet malts seem dominant. Appearance: amber clear, small white head. Taste: light sweetness. Palate: low fizz, malts turning to a mild bitterness. Overall: not you typical IPA, but very drinkable. Pint at the Crate Brewery, London.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. 5.8%. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is floral hops. The flavour is medium bitter with a thin bodied, hoppy, weak liqourice, citrus fruit palate and a short bitter finish. Needs a little more on the hop front I feel, but a decent session beer.

330ml bottle. Clear amber colour with average, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Cautious bitter hoppy aroma with a touch of grapefruit. Taste is minimally sweet caramel malty with a biscuit touch, cautiously bitter hoppy; very soft palate. A way more malty than hoppy IPA.

Bottle from St Pancras Station. Amber coloured with thin white head. Grassy floral aroma. Spicey bitter flavour, could be crisper, but not bad. Long bitter finish.
