UPDATED: JUN 21, 2014 330ml. Burnished bronze with a slender white foam. Unusual and enticing aroma like Fruit Salad chews, shiny red apple, grenadine syrup and hop pollen. Flavour floral and stewed with hints of peach, pine, papaya and fizzing pineapple moving into a mellow smoked husk finish. Smoked almond linger. Decent. Good malts. Reminds me of a 3.8% Mallinsons single hop YPA. But not as good.

330 ml bottle - Darkish orange appearance with little to no head upon pouring. Very little carbonation upon drinking either. Strong hop aromas which are replicated precisely on the tongue. Very bitter aftertaste.

Bottle from Sourced Market. Clear amber body with a thin off-white head. No carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of metal and orange. Flavour of blood orange, rust and sour pear. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Light fizz. Lacking in punchy flavour and drinkability. Not great.

Small bottle kindly preserved by the RBHD tasting party on Fridtjoffen. Clear nut golden body with a white, short lived rim. Caramel and over-ripe banana on the nose. Taste is sweet and salty with fruity hints. Full bodied.

Shared bottle at local tasting. Deep golden to orange colour, moderate white head. LThe aroma has loads of caramel and hints of diacetyl and dust, nothing IPAish about it at all. The flavour is very sweet and dull, some caramel. No IPA, and not a good beer regardless of style.

Clear and pale amber. Lots of caramel and toffee in aroma and in taste. Croquant in aftertaste. Some bitterness to balance. Not very much like an IPA, a bit on the sweet side, but otherwise decent.

gunnar (6113) - Sandnes, NORWAY - MAY 9, 2014
Shared bottle at local tasting. Pours clear deep golden with a small white head. Aroma reminds me of a barley wine, caramel and hay. Taste is moderate sweet, caramel and light bitter woody finish, strange.

Cask at the Le Gothique Wandsworth Beer Festival on 29 March 2013. Poured a dark amber/ copper colour, with a light hazy and a thin white head. Aroma of caramel, light bitter hop and elderflower. Ripe fruit flavours, with some cereal and citrus peal. Finish was lemon zest, grass and chewy malt.

Keg at Crate. Deep golden red colour, not much head. Sweet American hop aroma, sweet citrusy taste, anaemic finish. I’m just back frim the states so may be biased but didn’t quite get this beer, clearly designed as an American-style IPA given the hop choices, massively lacking in punch, both bitterness and hop flavour, and yet to much abv to be a session beer. Tasted like an average ’craft beer’.
