On gravity at the London Drinker beer festival 6/3/2013. Near black with a slight tan head. Bitter chocolate, roasted malts and some liquorice, before a dry finish. Very good.

Cask at the Earl of Essex, Islington, 21/02/13.
Extremely dark mahogony brown/light blak with a thin dark tan head that clears to the edge.
Nose is roast malt, darl fruits, raisens, plums, paper, light coffee.
Taste comrises dark fruits, darl malts, dates, cardboard.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation.
Ok - basic stuff.

Cask conditioned at Crate Brewery, Hackney Wick, London. Very dark brown with tan head. A pretty smooth, fruity stout, bordering on a Porter perhaps, but there is chocolate malt bitterness apparent and a hint of roasted coffee. Full and quite decent, I enjoyed it.
