2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours an amber with a thin, off white head. Aroma has floral hops, caramel, and nuts. The taste is heavy on malts. Mostly caramel, and there is a good deal of bread as well. Some cereal flavor. There is a slight pine flavor as well. Short and weak aftertaste of caramel with a hint of pine. Light in body with decent carbonation. Not much more going on here. Pretty basic and unimpressive.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From the 12 oz. can. Mine was acquired on clearance so it is likely many months past its fresh date. But it still looks nice with its bright amber, heady pour. The aroma has a kind of grape or wine character but that is likely due to its age. But if I sniff deep enough I get a little roasted malt. Medium texture. The taste has some more malts than the nose suggests and it has a mild bitter finish. I really had to stretch it to review this one because it is rather outdated. Next time I will try a fresher one.

Clear amber. Malty nose with balancing bitterness. Pretry tasty and I’m not a huge fan of ambers.

Can. A really nice amber ale. Clear copper-amber color with a small head. Aroma was a toffee-malty aroma with hints of floral-hops. Taste had hints of toffee with a slightly sweet upfront taste and a slightly bitter finish.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pint at the Terminal Bar. This is a pretty nice looking beer, clear red with a small white head. Aroma is biscuit and toasty with mild hops. I get suggestions of caramel and butter. The flavor is malt forward and a little crisp. There is a lingering sweet/buttery thing in the flavor but it’s faint. I can’t tell if it’s an off flavor or is just coming from the specialty malt. This is a fairly serviceable amber ale.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a copper golden color with a one finger head of pure white foam. The head has a decent level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a lighter level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is big of a caramel smell with a good showing of a bready and molasses smell accompanying it. Along with these aromas comes a little bit of a floral and grassy smell along with a tiny bit of earth.
Taste – The taste begins just as the nose would have suggested with a big sweet caramel and doughty taste mixed with just a hint of a grassy hop. The sweet remains strong throughout with the hop growing stronger and stronger as the taste advances all while a bit of a floral and earthy hop comes to the tongue. In the end, with all the flavors transitions that have occurred, one is left with a rather sweet, but lightly hopped amber taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of thickness, with a carbonation level that is slightly lower. A little thicker body, in conjunction with the lower carbonation, may have been slightly better for the malt and light hop, but overall the feel was pretty good overall.
Overall – A decent amber ale with a nice easy drinking abv at only 5.25%. Not a bad brew and one to try if you get a chance.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can. Clear amber. Floral and malty aroma. The taste adds toasty malt, caramel, and acidic, vinous booze. Not very good. Wouldn't recommend this.
