COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
n the 1960s, before Vail Village was paved and closed to vehicles, "hookiebobbing" referred to those committed fools who, while on skis, grabbed onto the bumper of passing cars to tow them up to the lifts. Our IPA is a Colorado approach to the American take of an English classic. Three aggressive yet floral American hops and one hop from Down Under team together to make a bright, citrusy and floral India Pale Ale. A deep caramel malt helps to balance the bitterness of the hops and lets the complex hop bill shine.
Hopped with Simcoe, Amarillo, Centennial and Galaxy.

Bottle. Pours a goldfish color with a fizzy head and odd aromas of... well... I’m not quite sure. Almost swampy with a little pepper. Flavor is one of the more undrinkable things I have ever tried. Just foul. Kind of like socks and landfill with an edge of pepper or something. I can’t say whether there was something wrong with the bottle or what, but this one hit me completely wrong.

355ml can. Cloudy, yellow-ish golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Piney and citrusy, hoppy aroma, hints of pineapple. Taste is piney and citrusy hoppy, hints of pineapple, caramel malty basis; more citrusy staccato than legato.

FROTHINGSLOSH (6537) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 11, 2016
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy yellow-gold color with a huge creamy yellow-white head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was tart fruity and floral hops. The flavor was bitter with sour caramel, tobacco and fruity & floral hops. Long finish. Medium body. Meh

Bottle picked up in Putney and shared at Canary Wharf. As ’Crazy Mountain Hookiebobb IPA’, 6.7%. Dark yellow, clear, still, with a small foamy off-white head. Aroma is buttery, simple sugars, light metallic notes. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is thin malts, straw, a little flint. Thin and plain. Just OK - a fairly average first impression from this brewery, given that this is one of their more highly rated beers available in the UK.

Hoppy, fruity, bitter but not particularly well balanced. Not sad to see it end but not horrible.

355ml bottle with awesome label art. Pours and orangeish gold. Aroma is malty. Flavor is hoppier, a very fruity one, caramel and nougat malt character. Not the type of IPA im into.

Poured from 12oz brown bottle into a Spieglau IPA glass, a clear golden colour with white foam, lasting with lace. Basic crisp grainbill, hops-forward brew: grapefruit, musk, pine resin, ganja weed. Light body, strong carbonation, lingering bitter citrusy aftertaste.

Poured from can into a snifter Appearance – The beer pours a hazy orange amber color with a one finger head of billowy white foam. The head has a great level of retention very slowly fading to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the brew is huge of tropical fruit smells with tons of tangerine and pineapple along with a good showing of a more melon like sweetness of cantaloupe and honeydew. Along with these smells are some lighter bready smells as well as a bit of a pine and grapefruit hop, giving a very nice inviting smell overall. Taste - The taste begins with a bready and doughy taste with just hint of tropical fruit and melon sweetness. As the taste moves forward hop flavors of a grassy and citrus nature come to the tongue with the tropical flavors losing ground. While much of the fruity sweet tropical flavors fade from the tongue, the grapefruit hop really picks it up toward the end of the taste, leaving one with a somewhat malty and grapefruity but balanced hop taste to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is slightly thicker and chewier with a carbonation level that is rather low. For the mix of hop, not overly sweet, and rather bready tastes of the brew the feel is quite nice and creates a great mouth coating feel. Overall – A rather nice and tasty IPA. Nothing super exceptional in the world of IPA’s, but it does have a nice blend of malt and hop which makes for an enjoyable brew overall. One to try if you get a chance.

Tower 42 Tasting. Another can from Dan the man. Clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has good fine carbonation. Smooth light pale malts, mildly sweet. Good sweetish piney hops getting slightly minty. Good tropical fruits with a touch of lime. A light and sweetish IPA. Nice.
