n the 1960s, before Vail Village was paved and closed to vehicles, "hookiebobbing" referred to those committed fools who, while on skis, grabbed onto the bumper of passing cars to tow them up to the lifts. Our IPA is a Colorado approach to the American take of an English classic. Three aggressive yet floral American hops and one hop from Down Under team together to make a bright, citrusy and floral India Pale Ale. A deep caramel malt helps to balance the bitterness of the hops and lets the complex hop bill shine.
Hopped with Simcoe, Amarillo, Centennial and Galaxy.

Can thanks to Ben! Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a combination of grass, sweet grain and a bit of earthy resin underlying. Flavor has a musty pine with earthy grass and earthy grain underlying.

It's okay, not great. I do like other beers from this brewery though. Worth a try at least.

A pale orange colored ale with a very thin white head. Aroma is floral with pine and just a hint of citrus.Body is relatively good with an average to above average bitterness. Tastes like a hint of vanilla invades the hop profile which is tasty but not staggering. A middle of the road yet enjoyable IPA.

Pours a very clear light golden with a very white head. Aroma is lightly sweet, like clover blossoms. Flavor is quite piney with a sweet finish. This is a relatively underlapped IPA, in my opinion.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2015 12 oz. can. Orange-amber body has a spotty film of cream. Smells of orange-grapefruit, toast and toffee. Tastes of grapefruit, orange vanilla toffee, tea leaf and toasted maize. Light-medium body has low carbonation and a nice balance.

32oz crowler from Angelís Trumpet pours with a clear copper to gold hued body that supports a full off white head of foam. The aroma offers up grassy, herbal, a dash of grapefruit and then floral hop notes that come together in less than an ideal way here as a thin ribbon of pine resiny hops and malt sweetness arenít really helping matters. The taste begins in a modest fashion with malts and quickly growing grassy hops where a faint wort sensation is noticed in the background. It then picks up floral hop bitterness, some grapefruit and resiny pine hops. Midway and into the finish a light yet disruptive sweet caramel malt note tries to close off the resiny hops but doesnít succeed. I think iím nit picking to a degree because stepping back and looking at the big picture this provides a nice level of hoppiness with bitter and resiny hops in the forefront.

A pale clear beer with a small head of foam and pretty good lacing. The smell isnít strong but whatís there is strikingly bitter. Mostly grass, floral hops and grapefruit, and an aroma very like hop oils. Grapefruit, grassy hops, quite the bitter brew with just a hint of malt as in bready malt. The hops hit you up front, mid palate, and in the long lasting finish with, again, a hop oil like character. Medium body and carbonation with a slick coating of bitterness on my tongue. Well, this sure is one bitter son of a gun and wears on me by the time I finished this can Yet, I might reach for another just to confirm what I think aboot it.;^)

Shared 12 oz. can poured to snifters, showing a hazed, orangey gold color, with a presentable layer of bubbly, soft white head foam, and spots of lacing. The nose was dank, grass & greenery, with citrusy & tropical esters. A bit less than medium bodied, with fair carbonation, the taste included a dry, citrusy, and slightly resinous bitterness that lingered assertively into the finish. An okay IPA.

From the 650 ml. bottle. The pour is straw yellow with a foamy white head. I was not too keen on the aroma. It was way too fruity along the lines of apple or pear but not much in the way of hops considering it is an IPA. The body is light. The taste is also way too fruity with a hint of pale malts. Weak.
