n the 1960s, before Vail Village was paved and closed to vehicles, "hookiebobbing" referred to those committed fools who, while on skis, grabbed onto the bumper of passing cars to tow them up to the lifts. Our IPA is a Colorado approach to the American take of an English classic. Three aggressive yet floral American hops and one hop from Down Under team together to make a bright, citrusy and floral India Pale Ale. A deep caramel malt helps to balance the bitterness of the hops and lets the complex hop bill shine.
Hopped with Simcoe, Amarillo, Centennial and Galaxy.

Pours amber color with white head. Aroma of citrus and hops. Hoppy flavor but taste a little watered down. Good beer but I was hoping for more bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pre-pour thoughts. 12 oz bottle. I first noticed the label, and was the primary reason that I bought it. Interesting name, interesting label. I thought the picture was an elk crossing a stream, wrong-o. Itís a part moose, part buffalo, part human walking in the snow. I guess I should look these things over more carefully.

Pours a slightly hazy, honey color. Has a very thick two finger head. Very nice lacing, good retention.

Aroma is citrusy, earthy hops. Malts and maybe vanilla.

Taste is citrus, touch of caramel, and a little orange vanilla. Hops are present but not over powering.

Mouthfeel is medium full, crisp and dry. It finishes bitter on the end, but not too much.

Overall, not much to say, this is really good. The lacing is incredible. Iím down to the very bottom, and Iíve got lacing all the way up the glass. One of the better IPAs that Iíve had. If you see it, and trust me, you wonít miss it, you should try it.

Oh, on the bottle it says, "Hoppy, Balanced, Fresh." There is no date on the bottle. Iím deducting a point overall. Shame.

Hazy, pale gold pour with a rocky, white head. The aroma has pine and floral hops. It has a light, somewhat watery body with average carbonation. The taste is bittersweet to start and then finishes dry and more bitter.

Pours hazy orange-gold with a medium beige head, good retention. Strong hoppy aroma, lots of sweet tropical fruit and floral notes with citrus and biscuit. Medium body, velvety, lightly dry. Mildly sweet, medium bitter finish, light lingering bitter notes. Full of fun.

Pours clear golden yellow with a large white head. The aroma has pale malt, perfume, mushy malt, passion fruit and pineapple. It has a medium light rough body with mild amount of carbonation. The flavor starts with super dry caramel malt, pine, earth / wood and grapefruit. It finishes with some tropical fruit added. Decent IPA.

Can. Orange-copper color with a large white head. Aroma is citrus-grapefruit with a pleasant floral scent. Taste is very similar, floral is better smelled than tasted. Slightly sweet upfront with a bitter finish.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance was a solid hazy burnt orange color with a super light transparency could be seen by seeing some light carbonation rise. The head dissipated within less than a minute and there was some light lacing here and there. The smell had slight earthy to semi-spicy hoppiness rolling into a light caramel malt. Thereís a light citrusy effect balancing in there as it warms. The taste was moderately spicy with a delicate sweetness through the caramel malt. Thereís a slight quick spicy finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation ran fairly decent for the style and for me. Earthy to spiciness from the hops does end up hitting my tongue nicely. Overall, definitely one of the better beers by this company, maybe not one to drink all of the time or seek out, but definitely do-able enough again.

Can. It poured a clear copper color with a white head. The aroma was of floral and citrus hops. The taste was similar to the aroma with more florals, hops, citrus and some mild bitterness. This was tasty.

I like it when a brewer gives a beer a completely unique name because it is easy to look up. Also, did you know "completely unique" is technically incorrect grammar? The word "Unique" never needs a modifier. Something either is unique or it is not. Anyway, this is a beer and I drank it.
