COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
n the 1960s, before Vail Village was paved and closed to vehicles, "hookiebobbing" referred to those committed fools who, while on skis, grabbed onto the bumper of passing cars to tow them up to the lifts. Our IPA is a Colorado approach to the American take of an English classic. Three aggressive yet floral American hops and one hop from Down Under team together to make a bright, citrusy and floral India Pale Ale. A deep caramel malt helps to balance the bitterness of the hops and lets the complex hop bill shine.
Hopped with Simcoe, Amarillo, Centennial and Galaxy.

Pours amber color with white head. Aroma of citrus and hops. Hoppy flavor but taste a little watered down. Good beer but I was hoping for more bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Shared 12 oz. can poured to snifters, showing a hazed, orangey gold color, with a presentable layer of bubbly, soft white head foam, and spots of lacing. The nose was dank, grass & greenery, with citrusy & tropical esters. A bit less than medium bodied, with fair carbonation, the taste included a dry, citrusy, and slightly resinous bitterness that lingered assertively into the finish. An okay IPA.

From the 650 ml. bottle. The pour is straw yellow with a foamy white head. I was not too keen on the aroma. It was way too fruity along the lines of apple or pear but not much in the way of hops considering it is an IPA. The body is light. The taste is also way too fruity with a hint of pale malts. Weak.

Medium gold, clear, lacy. Medium body, light flavor drowned by other flavors, lame mouthfeel, short length. Balanced bitter/sweet and sharp tastes but not enough flavor to carry. Hoppy but non specific flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured a golden color with aromas of caramel, light floral hops, a touch of citrus and some biscuit. Flavors matched the aromas, decent beer overall, but better ones out on the market.

Pours clear bright gold with a thick, tall, chunky off-white head. Aroma of fruity hops and juicy sweet malt. The flavor is slightly bitter, but there is too much malt sweetness in this one. Other wise decent, but save this one for someone who isnít looking for the hops.

"Floral, citrus and spicy hops comingle pretty nicely, though hopped fairly tamely for an american ipa. had on tap, sp fresher than their cans have been the last couple times. Easy drinking with a light bitter, caramel, biscuit malt finish."

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but was recently released in Michigan. Pours fairly crystal clear deep gold color with a 2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big lemon zest, orange peel, apricot, lime, tangerine, grapefruit, citrus rind, floral, grass, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of lemon zest, orange peel, apricot, lime, tangerine, grapefruit, citrus rind, floral, grass, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon zest, orange peel, lime, apricot, tangerine, grapefruit, citrus rind, floral, grass, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Nice complexity of citrus/pine hops with moderate malt sweetness; with a good malt/bitterness balance and some slightly cloying bitterness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice IPA. Good complexity and balance of citrus/pine hops with moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.

bottle from yankee beverage. OK Ipa, malt forward, avertage bitterness. milder citrusy & piney hops, old bottle perhaps. hops lost bite, malt dominated

Orange-tan with a slight bit of haze, not a lot of head or lacing, but it doesnít look bad at all, just a bit lacking on foam. Aroma is that of an IPA with a solid malt backbone. Caramel malts and earthy tones compliment a floral, citrusy hops body. Carbonation is somewhat light (probably affecting the appearance too), but more than ample. Overall the beer has a finish that spans both malty and resinous hops bitterness. Enjoyable. So far, I havenít had any beers from crazy mountain that I didnít like.
