4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap @ Brewery. Enjoyed it as part of their flight. Plenty of orange zest and grapefruity-ness. Suprisingly citric/hoppy for a barley wine, but very enjoyable overall. Best beer of theirs.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz can from College Liquors
Pours hazy dark golden, small off-white head, some light lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, pine resin and malty. Taste is pine resin, sweet malts, caramel, dusty and grapefruit
A good beer, more of a big DIPA though than a barleywine.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
355ml can. This is an unfortunate mess. Smells like someones first homebrewed mead. Flavor is surprisingly absent, no malt or hop character.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This pours a hazy orange/gold with a small and quickly receding head of foam that leaves some lacing.
Grapefruit, tropical fruit, very hoppy aromas but with a Belgian like nose inthere as well. Yeasty? Candi sugar?
Right off the bat, this reminds me of a Double/Imperial IPA. That is how hoppy it is; grapefruit with some tropical fruit bitter sweetness. Again, there’s an element or 2 of a mild Belgian influence. Must be how the malt affects my palate.
Medium body with medium carbonation and more than medium alcohol presence.
Not a bad price for a 4-pack but I don’t think I will repurchase.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Shared 12 oz. can poured to snifters showing a fairly clear, amber color, with a modest layer of off white head foam that diminished to a persistent, bubbly ring, light film, and spots of lacing. The nose was initially some grainy & chalky malt, then stone fruit as apricot, with some caramelized sweetness. Light to medium bodied, with noticeable booze, the taste continued the malt sweetness, and added conspicuous hop bitterness that lingered into the finish. Unusual for the style, but did temper & mellow the sweetness somewhat. Not a hefty Barleywine in all of it’s facets, but decent enough.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. can. Lightly hazy darkish copper body has a nice ring and a few spits of foam lingering on top. Nose is hoppier than expected: resin, a touch of citrus zest and some tea leaf are supported by some undercurrents of honey and molasses. The flavor is a nice mix of resin, grapefruit, creamy honey, tea leaf and some woody hops. Some mint in the long finish. Near-medium body has a pleasant low-medium carbonation and is definitely to the dry side of the style.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours amber color with a white head. Lacing is not as heavy as expected. Aromas of hops, caramel, barley. Complex flavor enjoyable, hoppy. I would drink this again.
